Dr. Vikas Tiwari defends his Thesis

Vikas Tiwari successfully defended his Ph.D. thesis, submitted to the National Center For Biological Sciences (NCBS), on 23rd August, 2023, the same day as moon landing of chandrayan-3. Vikas's thesis work involves computational study of membrane proteins. Congratulations, Dr. Vikas !!

Dr. Shafi visits IPSiM, France

Dr. Mohamed Shafi visited IPSiM (Institute for Plant Sciences of Montpellier), France as part of CEFIPRA project. He gave multiple talks during his visit at IPSiM about rice transporters and Moringa transcriptome.

ISMB-ECCB-2023 Lyon, France

Dr. Shafi and Mr. Abhishek participated ISMB-ECCB-2023 confrence Lyon, France. Abhishek gave a 10 min flash talk on NS1 work, published in Molecular biology and evolution, 2023. Shafi presented a poster on Structural analysis of HKT1:5 transporter.

Dheemanth Regati attended a conference on Machine Learning for Molecular Sciences (ML4Science 2023) from 9th - 12th March, 2023 at Kodaikanal. He participated in a Hackathon at the event and bagged the prize for best Methodology.

NCBS Annual talks 2023

Dr. Adwait Joshi, Mohammed Shafi and Abhishek Sharma have participated in presenting posters at the NCBS Annual Talks 2023: Patterns in Biology held between January 23th and 25th, 2023. Abhishek Sharma was awarded one of the NCBS Best Poster Prize. Shailya Verma presented a talk on " A genome-wide search of TIR domains containing proteins."

ICSBCADD'2022

CAPS lab members attended ICSBCADD'2022 conference held at Alagappa University, Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu from 21-25 November 2022.
Prof. R. Sowdhamini presented a talk titled "Exploring the medicinally important secondary metabolites in fenugreek through transcriptome studies" in this conference.
Dr. B. Nagarathnam, Dr. Adwait Joshi, Dr. Meenakshi Iyer, Mohammed Shafi, Pankaj Chauhan, Vikas Tiwari, Abhishek Sharma and Shailya Verma presented poster at this conference. Dr. B. Nagarathnam and Dr. Meenakshi Iyer won the best poster prize.

ECCB 2022

Pankaj Chauhan, Vikas Tiwari and Shailya Verma were selected to present poster in the 21st European Conference on Computational Biology 2022 (ECCB). It was held from 19 - 21 September 2022 at Sitges, Barcelona. The travel was supported by SERB, Infosys and DBT travel awards.
