SCANMOT accepts motifs in the above pattern. Where, [X] can be any residue. Multiple occurrence of one residue in consecutive positions should be represented as [X][X][X] or [LY][LY]. The motifs must be present in the query sequence. Two consecutive positions should not be connected by "-" or ".". Additionally, The server also accept standard PROSITE motif pattern.
